Our Story
A personal touch at our family-run hotel and wedding venue
Originally opened in 1968, The Glenside Hotel has long been a cherished establishment, welcoming guests from near and far. In April 2017, we had the opportunity to take over this much loved hotel, and since then, we’ve been dedicated to enhancing everything it has to offer while preserving its unique charm and heritage.
Married in 2009, Aogán and I have four young boys, and we are committed to nurturing a warm, community-focused environment at The Glenside.
We embarked on a 10-year plan to rejuvenate and modernise the hotel, and despite the unexpected challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, we’re proud to say that we are well on our way to achieving our goals.
Creating a welcoming space
Over the past seven years, significant improvements have been made, ensuring that every guest’s experience is both memorable and enjoyable.
When the pandemic forced us to close the hotel, our family wanted to continue the renovation works so that we could welcome the community back as soon as restrictions were lifted. We worked tirelessly behind the scenes, even hand-painting the lobby ourselves. This continues to be a real source of pride for us, meaning nothing is ever too much trouble when we work together.
To this day, that same personal touch is reflected in how we manage the hotel – being very hands on and involved in all aspects of our guests’ experience.
