Glenside Hotel is ideally situated for exploring the vast array of attractions in the local area.  The Boyne Valley is the soul of Ireland’s Ancient East and from Glenside Hotel you can discover the rich heritage of Ireland’s Boyne Valley.  There is always something for families too with Funtasia Water park and Tayto Park only a few minutes drive away.  Horse Racing enthusiasts won’t be disappointed either with a plethora of top National Hunt courses including Fairyhouse (the home of the Irish Grand National), Navan and Bellewstown on our doorstep.  Laytown races, and event held once a year in September, is the only event run on a beach under the rules of racing.  For the golfing enthusiast we are spoilt with the amount of Championship links courses in the area.   Take a left turn out of the gates of Glenside Hotel to head towards Co Louth Golf Club (Baltray) has hosted the Irish Open and a host of major International amateur events.  It is ranked in the top ten golf courses in Ireland.  It’s neighbouring links course, Seapoint has hosted the Irish PGA Championship on several occasions and has been endorsed by Padraig Harrington who says “There is not a weak hole on the entire golf course”.  Turn right out of the gates of Glenside Hotel and you will find Laytown & Bettystown Golf Club, members of which include Ryder Cup players Des Smith and Philip Walton.  Des Smith says “Laytown and Bettystown is a must play traditional links course, friendly and challenging, well worth a visit”.
